Hotels for New Year's in Atlantic City

Atlantic City, New Jersey, attracts visitors year-round for its casino and entertainment options. Second only to Las Vegas, Atlantic City's 2009 casino gross revenue was $3.943 billion, the American Gaming Association says. As of 2010, there are 11 casino resorts, 44 other hotels and more under construction. Donald Trump, MGM resorts, Hilton and Harrah's all have resorts in the city, and visitors looking to celebrate on New Year's Eve 2010 will have a wide choice of entertainment options, including concerts, shows and nightclub events.

  1. Harrah's

    • Known as the king of the blues, B. B. King will perform starting at 10 p.m. in The Concert Venue at Harrah's. Ticket prices range from $55 to $95. Clubbers 21 and older can enjoy a special New Year's Eve party at The Pool After Dark, where the pool area will be turned into a lively nightclub from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. Waterfront rooms in the hotel are available starting from $699. Guests can pamper themselves and prepare for their big night out at the Red Door Spa and eat at one of the nine dining options.

    The Showboat

    • Fans of Grammy Award-winning band Maroon 5 will want to check out its New Year's Eve House of Blues at The Showboat concert. The show starts at 9 p.m., and the tickets cost from $73 to $83. Guests can also enjoy a special New Year's Eve menu at the Rib and Chophouse, which is $150 including wine. Accommodations in the Mardi Gras-themed hotel are available from $559.

    Chelsea Hotel

    • The chic and contemporary Chelsea Hotel is the only non-gaming hotel on the Boardwalk. The hotel is hosting two parties in one in The Ballroom and The Lounge, and revelers can mingle and enjoy a five-hour open bar from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., hors d’oeuvres and live DJs. Rooms at the hotel are available from $436, and tickets for the parties start at $200.

    Trump Taj Mahal

    • Trump Taj Mahal Casino and Resort will host two parties. Jerry Blavat's annual New Year's Eve celebration will be held in the Tiara Ballroom from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tickets are "$125 per person and include buffet dinner open bar, champagne toast, party favors and coffee after midnight," the Trump Taj Mahal says. The Casbah nightclub will be the venue for the Silver and Gold Party, and DJs Yan, Tom Colontonio and Eddie Edge will host the shimmering event that has an open bar from 9 p.m. until midnight. Tickets start at $95. Rooms at the Taj Mahal are available from $465.
