Fishing and boating activities are available in the Lake Country region of south central British Columbia, Canada. Tourists have access to two lakes in this area: Okanagan and Wood. Lake Country is comprised of four communities, with most of the hotel accommodations being in the Winfield community. The other lakefront communities -- Okanagan Centre, Oyama and Carr's Landing -- feature boating marinas and restaurants. Okanagan Centre is home to Gray Monk Winery, which hosts wine tasting events.
The Kokanee Beach Resort in Winfield is on the southern shores of Wood Lake, and the hotel guests are within walking distance of a private sandy beach and fishing pier. Vacationers staying at the Holiday Park Resort are greeted by a 70-foot, roadside sailing ship landmark upon their entrance into the resort. This hotel provides one, two and three-bedroom condo-style units with fully furnished kitchens and living room areas. The units are available for time share holders, but nonmembers can rent rooms as well. Other hotel features include three outdoor swimming pools and whirlpool tub, game room, tennis courts and playground. All of the outdoor swimming pools are only open during the summer.

Canoe rentals are available for boating activities in Wood Lake or Okanagan Lake, which are both within 10 minutes of the hotel. Holiday Park's guests are also within 30 minutes of Kalamalka Lake Provinical Park, which features hiking trails that can also be used for cross-country skiing in the winter.
The Super 8 is in Winfield's town center, approximately 10 minutes from Okanagan Lake and Wood Lake. The hotel is within five minutes of local eateries off the Okanagan Highway, including the casual L'isola Bella Bistro and Mama Shpengi's, which serves steak entrees. Avid golfers who stay at the hotel are only a five-minute drive from the nine-hole course at the Aspen Grove Golf Club; the club also has a restaurant that is open year-round. The hotel is also a 15-minute drive from Kelowna International Airport, making it one of the closest Lake Country accommodations to the airport. This modern, chain hotel includes parking spaces for RVs and an indoor whirlpool tub. Each guest room has a mini fridge, while microwaves are available upon request. All of the guest rooms are nonsmoking.
