Michigan Avenue is a famous artery that runs through the heart of Chicago in a north-south direction and often a few blocks from Lake Michigan. The Hilton Chicago hotel on South Michigan Avenue overlooks Grant Park, Lake Michigan and the Museum Campus. It claims it is the closest luxury hotel to Chicago's convention center. It is also within walking of distance of a student residence called University Center that has lodging for students from Roosevelt University, Columbia College and DePaul University. The hotel has an Irish pub with light fare, a lounge in the lobby with coffee and pastries, and a restaurant that is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant starts the day with a breakfast buffet. Additional facilities include a swimming pool, fitness center, barber shop, beauty salon, concierge desk, gift shop, a foreign currency exchange, a newsstand, and on-site convenience store.
