Cabazon is in southern California's Inland Empire area, and home to the Cabazon Outlets mall. This shopping center is right off the Redlands Freeway, and its discounted prices attract tourists and residents of neighboring Riverside county cities. Some of the outlet's stores include Ashworth, which sells men's and women's clothing and Reebok. Hotels are within a half hour of Cabazon Outlets, which include accommodations in the nearby resort city of Palm Springs.
Situated in Cabazon, the Morongo Casino resort is only a five-minute drive from the restaurants and shops at Cabazon Outlets mall. The two dinosaurs, Mr. Dinny and Mr. Rex, are 45-foot high sculptures of an apatosaurus and tyrannosaurus rex respectively. Both structures have appeared in several movies and are available to the public for photo opportunities. The casino hotel is also less than 20 minutes from the Mt. The Hotel Zoso is a trendy, contemporary-style hotel in Palm Springs, approximately 25 minutes east of Cabazon Outlets. The hotel is in the western end of the Palm Springs, and is only a five-minute drive from local restaurants and shopping opportunities at the Palm Springs Mall on Tahquitz Canyon Way. Palm Springs International Airport is also accessible via Tahquitz Canyon Way, less than 10 minutes from the hotel. A possible day trip from the hotel is an hour-drive to Joshua Tree National Park, a desert recreation area with hiking trails and mountain climbing on the Little San Bernardino Mountains.

The Hacienda Inn, located in Banning, is only a 10-minute drive west of the Cabazon Outlets. This themed hotel features architecture you would find in northern Mexico, and the guest rooms have curtains and bedspreads with a southwestern flair. The hotel is right off the Redlands Parkway, which makes a day trip to the Lake Perris Recreation Area only a 40-minute drive. This state park features hiking and bicycling trails. Fishing and canoeing activities are available in the park's 8,200 lake, Perris Reservoir. Lake Perris Recreation Area is also home to the Ya'i Heki' Regional Indian Museum, which has exhibits dedicated to the history and culture of Native American tribes in southern California.
