Strawberry is a village of around 1,000 residents located in Gila County, Arizona. The village sits just below the Mogollon Rim, north of Payson and close to the neighboring town of Pine. Wild strawberries do grow near Strawberry, but are difficult to find. The area is popular with tourists interested in outdoor activities like camping, hiking, fishing and biking. The area has plenty of natural attractions, such as Fossil Springs Wilderness area, Tonto Natural Bridge State Park and the General Crook and Highline Trails, now both part of the Arizona Trail, a continuous 817 mile trail across Arizona.

    • Cabins on Strawberry Hill is a family-run log cabin resort at the northern edge of Strawberry. Sitting at 6100 feet, the property borders the 3 million acre Tonto National Forest. Fourteen chalet style cabins are available with either one or two bedrooms. The cabins have pine ceilings that open up two stories above the living room. Each cabin has a free-standing wood stove fireplace for heat, and wood is provided free of charge October through April. Cabins also have small electric space heaters. Kitchenettes are fully equipped, while the bedrooms sleep up to four total with an additional pull-out sofa in the living room. Nearby attractions include Rancho Tonto Catch-a-Trout, where kids can have a go at catching Rainbow Trout in a stocked pond, and Verde Hot Springs, a natural hot springs that the hotel owners recommend as an excellent place for a day hike.

    Windmill Corner Inn

    • Windmill Corner Inn is a quaint, owner-operated motel located in the village of Strawberry with eight units. There is a small windmill on the property. Each room has a private entrance off the deck, cable television, and in-room tea and coffee facilities. Some rooms have a microwave and small refrigerator. The motel is close to the village's eclectic collection of shops, which sell everything from antiques and collectibles to pottery, fine arts, handmade crafts and gourmet foods. The motel owner recommends a visit to the homemade fudge shop or the old-fashioned soda fountain. There is no restaurant on-site, however there is a good selection of restaurants in both Strawberry and neighboring Pine.

    Strawberry Lodge

    • Strawberry Lodge opened in 1956 with 10 rooms available, some doubles, some twins and some containing two doubles. The lodge has a restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner that serves traditional American food like sandwiches, burgers and deep fried dishes. The Lodge also prides itself on its weekend entertainment, which includes country singers and rock bands. The Lodge is located in central Strawberry.
