Affordable Hotels on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, New York

New York's Lower East Side consists of many neighborhoods including Chinatown, SoHo and the East Village. Traditionally an immigrant and working class section of Manhattan, in recent years the Lower East Side has undergone significant gentrification. Preservationists have managed to save numerous buildings, allowing visitors to enjoy an important slice of American immigrant history. Many affordable-priced hotels--at least by New York City standards--can be found in the area.
