Beach and surfing enthusiasts flock to Laguna Beach's Pacific Coast during all seasons of the year, due to southern California's warm climate. Beachfront hotels in Laguna Beach are on the Pacific Coast Highway, and several of these hotels allow guests to bring their pets with them. Animal lovers will find Laguna Beach to be a pet-friendly town with two dog-friendly recreation areas: Laguna Beach Dog Park, and Laguna Niguel Regional Park.
The Tides is a beachfront motel-style establishment in western Laguna Beach that allows pets to stay for a nightly fee of $25 per pet, as of fall 2010. Up to two pets of any size are allowed in each room. The motel will also provide your pet with a blanket and snacks upon your arrival. The Tides offers lower room rates than some of its beachfront counterparts. As of fall 2010, rates start at $99 during the winter, but they jump to $175 during the busy summer months. The motel is completely smoke-free, and it caters to elderly guests with its "Birthday Special" package, where the room rate is equal to the last two digits of the guest's year of birth. A two-night stay is required for this package.
