The Royal Palms, which opened in Fort Lauderdale in 1991 as a gay boutique hotel, has expanded to include two neighboring properties. The non-smoking hotel now has 52 guest rooms. Clothing is optional. The hotel has been awarded the 2008 Planet Out Travel Award for Best Gay Resort. The Royal Palms offer monthly specials and has both daily and weekly rates. Located two-blocks from the beach, it is also near numerous gay-friendly establishments.
