Oviedo is a community of just under 33,000 residents, located in eastern Seminole County, Florida. It is only a 20-minute drive from downtown Orlando. According to tourism website Visit Florida, Oviedo, once famous for growing citrus and celery, has a quaint, small-town atmosphere and is recognized for its "old-world Florida charm." The area is one of the fastest growing in Florida and is close to the University of Central Florida. It is also nearby beaches and other Orlando attractions, such as Walt Disney World, about a 45-minute drive away from the town. Oviedo has a limited selection of accommodation options.
The Oviedo Lodge Motel is the town's most centrally located tourist accommodation, nestled right in the heart of town. The motel is small and basic, and is independently owned and operated. The Town House is a recommended restaurant within walking distance. A bike shop across the street will rent bikes, which you can then take out for a ride on the nearby Cross Seminole Trail.

The King's Manor is an old farmhouse, built circa 1884. The property is set on two acres, and has a tea room serving English-style tea and cakes, and light meals. There are just three rooms available at the King's Manor, so it's best to book ahead. Guests are welcomed in a formal parlor, and the hosts offer thoughtful touches, such as chocolates on the bed, an evening turn-down service and the provision of robes. The hotel website recommends the Cross Seminole Walking Trail, just around the corner from the farmhouse, as an enjoyable activity for those who like the outdoors, or the Winter Park Farmers Market for foodie types.

The Big Oaks Ranch is a themed log house with five rooms and three bathrooms located approximately eight miles from the center of Oviedo. The ranch is set on 700 acres, and there are many activities provided on site, such as hay rides, guided walks, fishing and barbecues. The property features exquisite gardens, a pavilion and two houses suitable for weddings or special events. A continental breakfast is included in the room charge. The hotel was the first in the county to receive designation as a "Florida Green Lodging" destination for its environmentally friendly practices and policies.
