Walt Disney World is a city in itself, covering approximately the same land area as San Francisco. All of Disney's resorts include free transportation to the Disney theme parks and water parks, as well as free airport transfers. By staying at a Disney resort, you qualify for "Extra Magic Hours," which are extra hours the parks open for resort guests only. Another perk is having items you purchase in the parks sent back to your resort, saving you from carrying them around all day. Prices for Disney resort rooms vary throughout the year by season, with prices at their peak during holidays and summer, and their lowest during less busy times of year, such as late January.
Disney's All Star Resort has three themes: All Star Sports, All Star Music, and All Star Movies, each of which features larger-than-life icons and whimsical decor to make you feel like a kid again. Each theme of the resort has a food court serving up quick-service American fare like pizza, sandwiches and pasta, as well as pizza delivery to the rooms. This is one of Disney's value category resorts, which means simple but well-kept accommodations and Disney-level service at a low price. Each theme has two swimming pools plus a children's pool, and All Star Music has daily pool activities like dance parties and nighttime movies by the pool, which guests at all three themes may attend.

Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter Resort makes you feel like you have stepped into New Orleans. It has architecture of New Orleans's French Quarter, jazz humming softly in the background and pieces of Mardi Gras parade floats decorating the food court, which even serves up beignets to fit the theme. In addition to the standard bus service to the theme parks, you can take a quiet boat ride to Downtown Disney, Disney's shopping, dining and entertainment complex. This resort falls into Disney's moderate category, meaning somewhat larger rooms than at a value resort, a full-service restaurant on-site and extra amenities like boat and bicycle rentals.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge offers an African safari lodge experience, right in the heart of central Florida. Many rooms overlook one of the resort's three savannas, filled with animals like zebra, giraffe, wildebeest and kudu. The resort's cast members lead activities such as tours of the art in the lobby, cultural talks about their countries of origin, a daily feeding at the flamingo pond and nighttime animal viewing with night vision goggles. Jiko and Boma, the resort's full service restaurant and buffet, serve up award-winning cuisine with an African flare. The Mara food court offers standard vacation food like pizza and cheeseburgers, as well as some selections for more adventurous eaters such as African stew, a falafel pita or couscous.
