Detroit's Riverwalk Hotels

The Detroit Riverwalk is a 5.5-mile promenade along the Detroit River and an important development for the city's recovery. Visitors to the area can enjoy many parks located along the Riverwalk, a variety of restaurants and bakeries in the exciting Greektown district and three major casinos. Travelers seeking local accommodations can select from several hotels located on or near the Riverwalk.

  1. Omni Detroit Hotel at River Place

    • Situated in downtown Detroit's River Place District, the Omni Detroit Hotel offers a range of accommodations that reflect the atmosphere of stereotypical European, boutique-style hotels. Adorned with rich wood accents, many of the hotel's rooms and suites feature 12-foot ceilings and views of the Detroit River and Canadian coastline.

All guest rooms are non-smoking with one king- or two queen-sized beds, easy chairs, cable TV, in-room safe deposit boxes, plush robes and wireless high-speed Internet access. Premier rooms come with full marble bathrooms. Executive suites have a partial wall dividing the sleeping room and living room, while the Stoh's and Brigg's suites have two bedrooms with a full-sized parlor, dining area and three full baths.

Fender's Tavern serves casual cuisine in a historic automotive atmosphere. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the Riverview Room, and during the summer months, guests can dine outdoors on the Riverfront Patio, weather permitting. Live music and drink and dinner specials are available during the summer every Thursday evening on the patio.

There are not many restaurants and attractions immediately around the hotel, but management offers complimentary morning and evening shuttle transportation to designated downtown areas such as the Renaissance Center, Greektown and local sports venues.
