The Outrigger Hotel in Fort Myers, Florida

The Outrigger Beach Resort is a hotel in Fort Myers Beach, which is a small town on a barrier island known as Estero Island that is just off the coast in southwest Florida. The town is about 15 miles south of Fort Myers, which is a city that is the spring training homes for the Boston Red Sox and the Minnesota Twins. The resort offers 144 rooms, three dining options and live entertainment.

  1. Dining

    • The resort features Charley's Boathouse Grill, which specializes in beef, fresh fish, Cappuccino and the Death by Chocolate dessert. The Deckside Café is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers lighter fare and a sun deck. The Tiki Bar provides live music several times a week.

    Amenities

    • The resort amenities include an outdoor heated pool, sun deck, picnic area, barbecue grills, umbrellas for the beach and pool, gift shops, concierge services, guest laundry facility and free parking. The resort also has jet ski rentals, bicycle rentals, beach cabanas, and canoe and kayak rentals. A treadmill is available in the guest laundry facility. The resort offers guests opportunities to decorate seashells, make their own wooden souvenirs, decorate frames with seashells, paint their own T-shirt using stencils, or decorate their own beach bag.

    Rooms

    • Each of the rooms includes a mini refrigerator, safe, free high-speed wireless Internet access and cable television. Efficiencies include fully-equipped kitchens. The rooms share outdoor walkways with seating and views of the beach or pool. Garden apartments with a separate bedroom are available.

    Events

    • The Pelican Perch has nearly 900 square feet of event space for meetings with space for 35 to 60 people depending on how the room is set up. Banquet space is available deckside or on the deck for up to 24 people or on the beach in a tent for up to 200 people. The resort can also cater for the events. Packages for weddings on the beach are available as well.

    Attractions

    • Estero Island includes Lovers Key State Park, which is at the southern tip of the island and is about two miles from the resort. The Esterra Spa & Salon is across the street from the resort. Other nearby attractions include the Ostego Bay Marine Science Center and Bowditch Point Park. The Key West ferry also is available for short trips to Key West.
