Wellton is known as a relaxing town with high-desert scenery. The surrounding area affords the opportunity for all kinds of outdoor recreation, including jetskiing, boating and fishing. The Butterfield Golf Course is an 18-hole course under the Gila Mountains. Events throughout the year include the Tractor Rodeo, Pioneer Days and the Fishing Derby.
Situated just off of Interstate 8, the Microtel Inn and Suites is surrounded by desert scenery and recreation. The 18-hole Coyote Wash Golf Resort is adjacent to the property and, nearby, you'll find water sports on the Colorado River as well as sand dunes. The property offers an outdoor pool and whirlpool, free wireless Internet and complimentary continental breakfast. Several restaurants and bars are within 1 mile of the budget hotel. Pets are allowed for a nightly fee.
The Desert Motel is a 10-room property situated in central Wellton near businesses and services and just a few minutes drive from attractions such as Butterfield Park and Butterfield Golf Course. Rooms have one, two or three beds and all include cable TV, microwaves, refrigerators and Wi-Fi. The Desert Motel is on Los Angeles Avenue, the main artery through Wellton.
While hotels and motels are limited within Wellton, the town is better known for its RV Parks. The Wellton Chamber of Commerce lists nine RV parks, many of which have amenities such as sports courts, showers and laundry. Several accept pets. For a better selection of motels and other lodging options, consider staying 30 minutes away in Yuma, Arizona. With a population near 100,000, Yuma has a much more diverse selection of accommodations and businesses. Fortuna Foothills, another town with a better lodging selection, is situated between Wellton and Yuma.
