The Homestead, Bath County's first resort, opened in 1766 and has played host to presidents and princes. An 18-mile drive to the west of Millboro Springs will bring you to this historic landmark in Hot Springs. The Homestead features an assortment of 483 classic guest rooms and suites, each with authentic Southern furnishings. Room sizes range from 170 to 310 square feet, with suites ranging from 400 to over 600 square feet. The Homestead's signature attraction is its President's Suites. Each of these suites is decorated to honor one of the 22 presidents that have visited The Homestead. As a guest of The Homestead, you can enjoy a spring-fed indoor pool, an in-house movie theater, bowling alley and a full fitness center.
The Meadow Villas at Warm Springs is located approximately 10 minutes from Millboro Springs. This mountain resort features completely furnished private villas with a full kitchen and large distinct living spaces. Meadow Villas provides three distinct units to choose from, including the Quiet Waters Villa, Tree House Villa, and the Serenity Villa. Quiet Waters is a one-bedroom, ground floor unit with an air filtration system making it ideal for guests with allergies. Approved, small pets are allowed in this villa and it is handicap equipped and accessible. A bi-level, spacious loft awaits you in the Tree House Villa, complete with large windows offering an excellent view of mountains and forests. The Serenity Villa is a multiple deck, double bedroom unit capable of accommodating seven people. Both the Quiet and Serenity villas may be used with the optional Outpost Bedroom, making the Quiet Villa a two-bedroom unit and the Serenity a three bedroom accommodating up to nine people.
A 25-minute commute to the north of Millboro Springs will take you to Fort Lewis Lodge. This bed-and-breakfast-style lodge is located in the Shenandoah Valley and is part of a 3,200-acre plantation. The lodge is open April through early November and provides a choice of three accommodations. You can relax in the roomy main Lodge and Silo, enjoy rustic cabins, or settle in at the Riverside House. Fine American-style cuisine is offered at the Lewis Grist Mill, with many of the food items picked right from the lodge's gardens. The mill has a large dining area and spacious second-level game room, making it an ideal place for special events accommodating up to 30 people. In addition, the Lewis Grist Mill features a bar on the outdoor patio overlooking a fishpond.
The Hummingbird Inn lies approximately eight miles to the east of Millboro Springs in the village of Goshen. This pet-friendly, Victorian-style bed and breakfast has five uniquely decorated guest rooms, each with a country atmosphere. The inn, built in 1780, once played host to Eleanor Roosevelt in 1935 and features original pine flooring, a stone fireplace, and a spacious living room and dining room area. Outside the inn, you will find a deck overlooking a trout stream. The Humming Bird Inn's size makes it ideal for small weddings or other gatherings. Motorcycle parking is offered inside an old barn and the innkeepers provide assistance in planning hikes and other excursions in the area.
