In addition to Illinois State University, Normal is also home to State Farm Insurance, Mitsubishi Motors North America and Illinois Wesleyan University. The eclectic district of Uptown Normal features shopping, dining, seasonal arts festivals and world-class entertainment.
In the heart of Normal sits Illinois State University. Three motels are clustered approximately two miles due north of the town's center: The Super 8, Best Western and Motel 6. About two miles due east of Normal's center is a Signature Inn, near the intersection of East College Avenue and Veterans Parkway.
Three major interstate highways intersect in Normal; the town also sits along a main passenger rail route. The Central Illinois Regional Airport at Bloomington-Normal hosts major carriers and five car rental companies. Both the Best Western and Signature Inn offer airport shuttles.
The Super 8, Signature Inn and Best Western all feature complimentary breakfast and Internet access. All rooms at the Signature Inn are equipped with a microwave and refrigerator, as are some rooms at the Super 8.
Visitors can exercise at one of Normal's many parks or at their motel. The Signature Inn and Best Western feature indoor swimming pools, while the pool at the Motel 6 is outdoors. The Signature Inn offers a workout facility.
Guests traveling with pets can find refuge at the Super 8, Motel 6 and Best Western. However, the presence of animals can be a concern for patrons with allergies.
