Rumford, Maine, was incorporated in 1800 and is the home of "Great Falls," the highest waterfall in the United States east of Niagara Falls. The town is at the base of Mount Abram and Black Mountain, two skiing resorts in the area. It is also located alongside the Androscoggin River and hosts annual events such as the Christmas in the Valley, a golf tournament and the Fall Foliage River Run Festival.
