Attractions such as Walt Disney World Resort, Sea World and Universal Studios have made Orlando, Florida, one of the hottest vacation destinations in America. When traveling to Orlando, you will have plenty of lodging options--hotels and resorts line every main street in the city. If you are looking for more space and privacy, a cabin rental may be your best bet. While cabins are not as plentiful in Orlando as hotels, if you look around you can find some quality cabin lodging at affordable rates.
  1. Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake

    • If you are looking for beautiful natural surroundings and affordable rates, Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake is tough to beat. The park is run by the city of Orlando and offers a swimming pool, trails, boat rentals and fishing. You can camp and rent cabins at the park. Five cabins are available for rent, each sleeping up to 10 people on five sets of bunk beds. All cabins come equipped with grills and air conditioning--a must in the Orlando heat. While the park is pet-friendly, pets are not allowed in the cabin or camping areas. As of September 2010, cabin rentals cost $37.50 a night, although you will be expected to make a $100 deposit.

    Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort

    • If you are traveling with children who require the full Disney experience, you may want to rent a cabin at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. Fort Wilderness Resort is sprawled across 750 wooded acres and offers easy access to Walt Disney World Resort's Magic Kingdom. The log cabins offer 500 square feet of space and include one bedroom, a full bathroom, a living room, a fully equipped kitchen and a private patio. The cabins are full furnished and come with housekeeping services. Fort Wilderness Resort offers many attractions, such as a barbecue with Disney characters, swimming, fishing and horseback riding. As of September 2010, cabin rentals start at $270 a night.

    Tropical Palms Resort

    • Tropical Palms Resort provides the opportunity to rent spacious, modern cabins just minutes from all of Orlando's attractions. The resort offers kid-friendly features, such as a heated swimming pool, playground, fishing, basketball courts and a game room. Cabins include more than 400 square feet of living space and feature one or two bedrooms, kitchens, a full bathroom, central air conditioning and cable television. Some cabins accept pets--call ahead if you are thinking of bringing your pooch along. Rates vary by season and depending on whether you book a one- or two-bedroom cabin. As of September 2010, expect to spend anywhere from $60-$150 a night.
