The Blueridge Parkway and surrounding roads have a reputation for being some of the best motorcycling roads in the Eastern United States if not in the entire country. It can take many weeks to explore all the different roads, especially because some deserve riding more than once. Not all motels welcome motorcyclists, but some go out of their way to make bikers feel at home.

The Switzerland Inn welcomes motorcycles to stay in its rooms that have served travelers in the area since 1910. In addition to views of the Blueridge mountains, the Inn has a full restaurant, swimming pool and tennis courts. Adjacent to the Switzerland Inn sits the newer Diamondback Motorcycle Lodge that provides covered parking for its motorcycling guests as well as access to all other amenities at the Switzerland Inn.

Station's Inn Motorcycle Resort sits only one block off the Blueridge Parkway. The resort will even provide motorcycle touring maps to give its guests some insider knowledge to the best roads in the area. In addition to rooms guests may rent one of the small cabins on the property. The resort offers covered parking for up to about thirty bikes on a first come, first served basis.

The Abbey Inn, located on the mountain above Maggie Valley offers mountainside views along with its rooms. The Inn also provides a free site for washing the bugs and grime off guests' motorcycles. The staff will also provide helpful hints on good riding roads as well as local hikes and natural attractions. The staff also provides information for those wishing to rent a Harley Davidson motorcycle while in the area.
