The Catskill Mountains are a mountain range located in New York State. They are sometimes considered part of the Appalachians and extend over much of the southwestern part of the state. The Catskills are popular as a tourist destination and used to be known for the Borscht Belt--a series of resorts where many Jewish comedians got their start in the mid-1900s. The Doh-Ray Cabin, perched 1,500 feet above sea level, is located in Woodstock, New York. The cabin features two bedrooms--each boasting hardwood floors--and 1-1/2 baths. A pond is just steps away, or you can relax in the screened-in porch. WiFi Internet is available, and you can use the gas oven to cook your meals. Ski resorts are a 30-minute drive away, and in the summer the cabin's altitude keeps you cool. As of June 2010, you can rent the cabin for $650 on a weekend, or pay an additional $250 per any extra nights.

Only three hours from New York City, this cabin in the northern part of the Catskill Mountains features two bedrooms. A large fridge, microwave and gas stove are present in the kitchen. In the wintertime, you will stay warm with the cabin's wood-burning stove and electric heat. In the summer, use either the six-person hot tub or full-size above-ground swimming pool, both just steps from your door.
