Tinton Falls, formerly part of Shrewsbury Township, is a borough in New Jersey roughly 50 miles south of New York City. The borough was named after local historic site Tinton Manner, a plantation owned by Lewis Morris that employed both free white workers and slaves in the 1700's. Tinton Falls is also the home to New Jersey's highest waterfall.
