If you prefer to rough-it outdoors, try camping in Badlands. There are two different campgrounds available, Cedar Pass and Sage Creek. All campsites are open all year, and each campsite is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Reservations are only required if you are bringing a large group. Campers are not permitted to make fires, but contained charcoal grills or camping stoves are permitted. If you are out to spot wildlife, Sage Creek is the more primitive of the two, and bison frequent the area.
