Become one with nature at one of the many cabins or RV parks in the area. For a historical base camp, try Lake Crescent Lodge in the northern region of the park, where the most popular accommodation choice is a Roosevelt Fireplace Cabin. These one- and two-bedroom cabins are on the National Register of Historic Places. You won't find a TV or phone in the cabin, but you won't want to be distracted from the spectacular views of the lake or mountains anyway. Cabins are available every day during the summer and on weekends only in winter. Located north of Hoodsport on the west shore of the Hood Canal -- just outside the southeast corner of the park -- Rest-A-While RV Park & Marina offers both wooded and waterfront camping. All sites include water, sewer, power and cable TV hookups, as well as access to a marina and private oyster and clam beach.
Located in the Rain Forest Resort Village on the shores of Lake Quinault on the park's southwest corner, Village Inn offers three styles of rooms: a one-bedroom queen, a two-bedroom, and a suite with a bedroom and living room. Walking trails begin on the property and lead you through the Quinault rainforest, where you can take your picture next to the "World’s Largest Spruce Tree." Rooms book fast during the summer months and holidays, so it’s wise to make your reservations early. For a location that offers scuba diving, whale watching, fishing, boating and more, head to Sunrise Motel and Dive Resort in Hoodsport. You can book a room, an apartment, or a dorm suitable for groups.
Listen to the many sounds of nature as you relax on the house deck at Eden by the Sea Bed & Breakfast just north of the park in Port Angeles. The property offers three suites with private baths and a cottage apartment, and rates include a gourmet breakfast in the dining room -- with views of the bluff and the opportunity to spot an eagle – and afternoon refreshments. Designated the “Cullen House” due to its close match to the home described in “Twilight,” the Miller Tree Inn in Forks, northwest of the park, has eight rooms for you to choose from, all with private bathrooms and WiFi. Grab a game, puzzle, book or DVD from the living room, then head to your room where a refrigerator with refreshments awaits you.
There are many lodging options available to you if you’ve brought “man’s best friend” along. Sunset Marine Resort, a waterfront lodge just outside the northeast corner of the park in Sequim, allows up to two pets per cabin for a small charge, and even supplies towels and sheets for your dog. All eight cabins provide panoramic views of the water and breathtaking sunsets. Just steps from the Pacific Ocean, Kalaloch Lodge in the western part of Olympic National Park has several pet-friendly cabins available for you and your pup. A non-refundable fee is charged for dogs of all types and sizes. Activities at the lodge include whale watching, bike touring, fishing, hiking and beachcombing.
