Cabins in Big Bend National Park

Big Bend National Park in Texas has three campgrounds, an RV Park and cabins at Chisos Mountain Lodge. The park has horseback riding and hiking trails, fishing with no license required, and boating by permit. Bring a kayak to paddle on the wild and scenic Rio Grande river. You can also rent boats at Lajits or Study Butte. Backcountry camping is available by permit in desert areas.

    • Chisos Mountain Lodge offers six family-friendly cabins with refrigerators and microwaves, coffee makers and ceiling fans. The cabins have no televisions or phones and cell phone reception is very limited. Children 12 and under stay free with two adults. There is free parking. Cottages have private showers and up to three double beds. Book early; in July, 2010, reservations opened for 2011.

    Chisos Mining Company

    • Chisos Mining Company, four miles outside Big Bend National Park, has three differently sized cabins, each with a kitchenette and full bath, along with motel rooms. The smallest cabins sleep up to five, and the largest has two bedrooms, a loft and a great room.

    Big Bend Resort & Adventures

    • Big Bend Resort & Adventures, three miles from Big Bend National Park, has a small apartment, a cabin-like house that sleeps up to six adults and motel rooms. There is also an RV park and campground. The apartment and house have kitchens, cable television and phones. The property includes a nine-hole golf course and a cafe that serves breakfast and lunch.
