Big Bend State Park Accommodations

Big Bend Ranch State Park is located on the border of Big Bend National Park in far southwest Texas. Its 300,000 acres make it the largest of Texas' state parks. There are approximately 23 miles of frontage along the Rio Grande River, the boundary between the United States and Mexico. The park terrain is rugged and remote, and includes canyons, waterfalls and extinct volcanoes.
  1. Big House

    • The Big House is a historic ranch house built in 1908. It features vaulted ceilings, a sunroom, a kitchen, three bedrooms and three baths. The Big House is available for up to eight guests. Meals can be eaten at the bunkhouse for those guests who prefer not to cook, but prior arrangements must be made.

    Sauceda Lodge Bunkhouse

    • The bunkhouse was built during the 1960s as a hunting lodge. It can accommodate as many as 30 guests. Sleeping quarters are arranged bunkhouse style, with men and women on separate sides. Meals are served at the bunkhouse if desired and if prior arrangements are made.

    Campsites

    • Campsites inside the park are classified as located in Front Country, Primitive Road, and Backcountry zones. Front Country areas are within one-fourth mile of roads that can be accessed by cars with two wheel drive. Primitive Road lands are within a quarter mile of roads designated for two wheel drive vehicles with a high clearance or four wheel drive vehicles. Backcountry zones are further from roads, and no motorized vehicles are allowed.
