Glacier National Park in northern Montana near the United States-Canadian border was established in 1910. The park is not entirely scenic, as visitors may also participate in various forms of recreation. Cabin rentals are available inside and outside park boundaries and offer visitors an alternative to tent camping and hotel lodging.
Eleven cabins are available for rent between early June and the end of August at East Glacier Motel and Cabins in the town of East Glacier Park Village. The cabins sleep between two and four people in various floor plans. Although the motel is on the outskirts of Glacier National Park, it is only 11 miles to the Two Medicine Area, which is the starting point for many of the hiking trails that provide access to different features of the park like Cobalt Lake or Twin Falls.
The town possesses restaurants and retail options; many of the businesses are open seasonally.

Glacier Trailhead Cabins in Babb, Montana, is near the eastern edge of Glacier National Park. The business opened in 1999, so the cabins are fairly modern. Visitors can choose from one or two-bedroom cabins between May 15 to October 15. Cabins come with a microwave, refrigerator and bathroom with a shower. Glacier Trailhead provides a picnic shelter that is available to all visitors and includes a full kitchen and kitchen utensils. The cabins are 2.5 miles north of St. Mary, the eastern terminus of the Going-to-the-Sun Road that meanders across Glacier National Park.

Located at the eastern entrance of Glacier National Park, the St. Mary Lodge and Resort offers the closest cabin rentals to the park. The resort, which is open from late May to late September, offers three cabin floor plans. The Glacier Cabins feature one bedroom with queen bed, living area, microwave and refrigerator. Other options include the Sun Cabin and Guest House, which sleep between four and six people and offer additional amenities such as a full kitchen. The cabins are part of a large lodging complex that also includes a lodge, cottages, gas station, restaurant and lounge, gift shop and grocery store.
