Yellowstone was established in 1872, making it the first national park in the world. If you wish to stay within the boundaries of Yellowstone, a set of cabins run by Yellowstone National Park Lodges appear throughout the park. Whether you want to stay right on a lake or close to Old Faithful, these cabins help you get the most out of your trip. If you rent one of these cabins, you are permitted to stay in the park even after the rest of the public has to leave at the end of the day, allowing you to see a different side of Yellowstone. Most of the cabins do not have television, phone or Internet capabilities. The cabins are generally only open during the summer season.

Just outside of the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park, the Faithful Street Inn consists of nine cabins that can accommodate larger groups. The smallest cabins sleep six guests, while the bigger cabins can handle up to 18 people. Several medium size cabins sleep 8-12. Amenities include free wireless Internet, televisions and kitchens. Management enforces a three-night minimum stay for the smaller cabins, with an extra night required for the two cabins that sleep 18. Prices vary by season.

Flagg Ranch Resort, a AAA-approved facility, is located just outside Yellowstone's south entrance, on the banks of the Snake River. The main lodge serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, an added bonus in such a remote area. A general store sells groceries and a gas station can be found on site. Each cabin features a private bath, telephone and a patio with rocking chairs. Management rents the cabins only during the summer months.
