As a small town in the desert, Artesia is an oasis in the middle of Eddy County, New Mexico. Artesia is about an hour from the famous Carlsbad Caverns outside of Carlsbad. Roswell, famous for its Area 51, is an hour away in the opposite direction. Brantley Lake State Park and Lake McMillan are halfway between Artesia and Carlsbad, providing opportunity for outdoor recreation, including swimming to cool off in the desert heat during the summer. Artesia offers a choice of hotels and motels, so you can take your pick.

For business travelers, this hotel offers meeting facilities, fax and data ports. Pecos Inn is one mile from the Artesia Historical Museum and Heritage Plaza.

    Hotel Artesia

    • The Hotel Artesia offers guests their choice of rooms with two double beds or a king bed; a suite with a kitchenette and a king bed; or one- or two-bedroom suites with spa tub, king bed, kitchenette, sitting area and balcony. The movie theater is two blocks away, and the historic district, including Heritage Walkway and the Ocotillo Performing Arts Center, is just outside the front door.
