  1. Duke's Huntington Beach

    • Duke's, located on the Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach, is an upbeat family-friendly restaurant that pays homage to legendary Hawaiian surfer, Duke Paoa Kahanamoku. Duke's Barefoot Bar is an indoor Tiki bar with a bar menu, tropical drinks and daily "Aloha Hour" food and drink specials. The bar area and dining room are equipped with bay windows, offering views of the Huntington Beach Pier and Pacific Ocean. Duke's serves American-infused Hawaiian cuisine, with dishes such as poke rolls, sweet and sour lilikoi, mango barbecue ribs and Huli Huli chicken. As of August 2010, prices ranged between $16.95 and $29.95 for entrees. Duke's also supplies a kids' menu, and is open Tuesday through Saturday for lunch, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for Sunday brunch and daily for dinner.

    Las Brisas

    • Las Brisas, once the Victor Hugo Inn, is situated atop the Laguna Beach bluffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The restaurant has pathways down to the beach, an outdoor patio and bar, and indoor dining rooms. Las Brisas provides a formal, fine-dining atmosphere, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner at varying times based on the day. Las Brisas serves a four-course champagne brunch from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays. The restaurant prepares refined Mexican cuisine, specializing in fresh seafood dishes. The bar, open until 10 p.m. on weekdays and 11 p.m. on weekends, features a list of specialty margaritas and martinis. As of August 2010, Las Brisas' entree pricing fluctuated between $31 and $50.

    Ruby's Diner

    • Ruby's Diner, located on the Pier in Oceanside, is a '50s-style diner with red vinyl booths and bar stools and a fast-paced, family atmosphere. Ruby's Diner serves American fare such as burgers and milkshakes with budget-friendly prices. Patrons can enjoy water views while walking the pier and through bay windows while dining. Ruby's is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

    The Waterfront

    • The Waterfront, located in the San Diego harbor, offers a casual and entertaining bar atmosphere with live bands and daily specials, such as $1.50 Tuesday tacos. The Waterfront serves a weekend Mexican brunch from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m. and daily breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant specializes in bar fare such as nachos, chicken wings and burgers.
