Boutique Hotels in Kenmare, Ireland

On the southwestern tip of Ireland, the town of Kenmare welcomes visitors from around the globe. The town sits on the edge of Kenmare Bay, leading to the Atlantic Ocean. Kenmare is on the Ring of Beara and Ring of Kerry tourist routes, which encircle county Kerry. Inhabitants have lived in the historical town since the late 1600s. Plenty of walking, shopping, golfing and historical sites are in and around Kenmare.
  1. Watersedge Bed and Breakfast

    • The Watersedge Bed and Breakfast is a short 10-minute walk to Kenmare. Guests can sit in the kitchen and gaze out the bay window at the harbor. Located in Sheen Falls woods, orthopedic beds are in each room as well as sound proof floors for a quiet stay. Free wireless Internet and flat-screen TVs are available in the rooms.

      A library of DVDs are in the bed and breakfast for all guests. A selection of books are on hand to pick from and take out on to the deck with a cup of coffee or tea and a biscuit any time of day or evening.

      A selection of items are on the menu each morning for the complimentary breakfast including smoked salmon, scones and cheese made by local merchants.

    The Coachman's Townhouse

    • On Henry Street in the heart of Kenmare, the Coachman's Townhouse offers relaxing accommodations. Luxury Irish fabrics cover the beds in the spacious rooms, flooded with sunlight through the large picture windows. In the bathrooms heated floors and mirrors allow guests to warm up when they come in from the blustery Irish weather.

      The bar, located in the hotel, serves up a dark glass of Guinness as well other other fare. The restaurant features gourmet meals such as lamb and a plate of vegetables.

    Sheen Falls Lodge

    • From the rooms of Sheen Falls Lodge, views of Kenmare Bay and waterfalls are in sight. Six types of rooms are offered at the lodge from a deluxe room with seating areas overlooking the scenery, to the Presidential Suite with silk fabrics and a surround sound system.

      In the soft-colored rooms, creating calm for the senses, flat-screen TVs, in-room desks and Danish bed linens are available. The lodge offers villas and cottages. Like a fairytale out of a Shakespeare play, the historical looking cottages feature a sun room, marble bathrooms and a small private balcony.

      Fresh seafood and local produce are featured at the LaCascade Restaurant. A lounge, cocktail bar and wine cellar are on the property as well as a health club, spa center and art gallery for guests.

    O'Donnabhain's Bed and Breakfast

    • Located in the heart of Kenmare, O'Donnabhain's family-owned Bed and Breakfast offers en suite rooms with a contemporary look of geometric shapes, located above the bar and private breakfast area. Wireless Internet and coffee and tea are all part of the stay.

      Twin beds, double, and triple family-sized rooms are available. Guests are served an Irish breakfast each morning, or a more healthy alternative if requested. A private guest room to relax at the end of the day is located in the bed and breakfast.

      O'Donnabhains Pub, on the ground floor, was restored recovering the stonework of the Irish bar from the original building erected in 1775. Mussels, beef and Guinness stew and locally-caught fish are all served in the Gastro Restaurant run by the owners.
