RV Parks around Gonzales, LA

Gonzales is a town approximately 20 miles to the southeast of Baton Rouge in Louisiana. Although Gonzales itself is best known for its annual Jambalaya Festival, the area has many other attractions such as the Mississippi River, bayous, swamps, casinos and former plantations. Gonzales does not have RV parks in its city limits, but some good choices are within 25 or less minutes.
  1. Baton Rouge KOA

    • The Baton Rouge KOA, approximately 20 minutes north of Gonzales and 10 miles from the Mississippi River, has a section of its park that accommodates RVs. The RV sites are full hook-ups that come with 20-, 30-, 50 or 100-amp electric service. The maximum pull-through lengths of the sites are 75 feet. The sites are paved and come with free cable TV. Many of the sites are pull-throughs an in shaded areas. The Baton Rouge KOA, which also has sites for tents and cabins, has an air-conditioned clubhouse with a kitchen and a picnic pavilion. Free wireless Internet is available on a property with a pool that has a waterfall and is open from April 1 to Oct. 1. A wading pool for children, a miniature golf course and a hot tub are on the grounds as well.

    Night RV Park

    • The Night RV Park on the east side of Baton Rouge advertises itself as the only campground in the city. It has 99 RV sites that can handle any size vehicle and come with water, sewer and electric connections of either 30 or 50 amps. The closest campground to Louisiana's state capitol, the Night RV park has rates for short-term and extended stays. The sites are in shaded and forested areas, and near bathrooms, showers and a laundry center. The campground, which allows pets, offers free wireless Internet and has an area for picnics and barbecues. Another plus is the campground is located along a bus route to the city. A convenience store and propane filling station are near the entrance to the park.

    Lakeside RV Park

    • A little over 25 minutes to the northeast of Gonzales, the Lakeside RV Park features a 17-acre lake in a secluded area. The campground has 139 sites that are paved and are equipped with sewer, water and electric hook-ups. The electric is both 30 and 50 amps. Pull-through sites are available. Fishing is popular at an RV park that has a pool with lounge chairs, a playground for children, a dog park and two picnic pavilions overlooking the lake. Standard amenities include restrooms, showers and laundry facilities. Propane, fishing supplies and groceries are all for sale on a property that also offers free Wi-Fi and has cabins for rent. The park was ranked in the top 100 by the Good Sam Park ratings website from 2008 through 2010.
