Mesquite, Texas, is located about 10 miles east of Dallas and about 50 miles south of the Oklahoma state line. The city is home to Mesquite Championship Rodeo (MCR), which is held in a large indoor arena every June through August. Rodeo events at MCR include horse and steer roping, horse and bull riding and barrel racing competitions. The park also has a lake for fishing, bicycle and walking paths, and a store with camping and grocery items.     East Fork Campground

    • Located 18 miles from Mesquite in Wylie, East Fork Campground has 50 RV sites with electric and water connections, but no sewer. The campground includes bath and shower facilities and hiking and bicycle trails. East Fork Campground is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campground next to Lake Lavon and has a marina and boat ramps for access to the lake. Lavon is a popular spot for boating, fishing and swimming. Local restaurants and shopping outlets are less than two miles away from the campground. Pets on a leash are welcome at East Fork Campground.
