Located along the shore of Big Sauk Lake, Sauk Centre boasts some of the finest fishing Minnesota has to offer. Anglers can delight in the 10-mile lake or drive to nearby McCormic and Cedar lakes. Off the water, visitors can check out the Palmer House, where author Sinclair Lewis, America's first winner of the Nobel Prize for literature, worked as a night clerk.     Big Sauk Resort

    • Don't let the inaccuracies of Google maps fool you: Big Sauk resort is located along the western shore of Big Sauk Lake, three miles north of Sauk Centre on U.S. 71. With year-round services and activities, including ice fishing and spearing in the winter months, this resort also offers boat and pontoon rentals, 700 miles of groomed trails, three golf courses within a 10-minute drive, acres of hunting and an on-site restaurant and bar. Along with RV sites with water and electric hookups, the resort also has cabins and a motel with a lakefront view.
