Who looks after Kakadu national park?

The Kakadu National Park is jointly managed by the Australian government and the traditional Aboriginal owners of the land, the Mirarr people. The park is managed in accordance with the Kakadu National Park Management Plan, which was developed in consultation with the Mirarr people and other stakeholders. The management plan sets out the objectives for the park, including protecting the natural and cultural values of the park, providing opportunities for public enjoyment and understanding of the park, and promoting the economic and social development of the region.
