How close to a driveway can you park in Illinois?

According to Illinois Statute 625 ILCS 5/11-1301, "Stopping, standing, or parking prohibited in specified places; exceptions. (a) Except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with law or the directions of a police officer or traffic control device, no person shall:**

(h) Park a vehicle within 15 feet of a fire hydrant.

Furthermore, Illinois Statute 625 ILCS 5/11-1303 states, "No person shall:

(b) Park a vehicle, whether occupied or not, except momentarily to pick up or discharge a passenger or passengers, within 30 feet of the nearest crosswalk at an intersection;

(c) Park a vehicle, whether occupied or not, except temporarily for the purpose of and while actually engaged in loading or unloading merchandise or passengers, within 15 feet of the driveway entrance to any fire station or on the side of a street opposite the entrance to any fire station within 75 feet of said entrance (when properly signposted);".

Therefore, in Illinois, you cannot park within 15 feet of a driveway entrance or within 75 feet of a fire station entrance. These distances are in place to ensure the safety of pedestrians, firefighters, and other vehicles.
