Who discovered Acadia National Park?

Acadia National Park was not discovered by any single individual. The area that is now the park was first explored by European settlers in the 17th century, and it was gradually developed as a tourist destination in the 19th and early 20th centuries. In 1919, the area was designated a national monument, and in 1929 it became a national park.
