Dorney Park Rain Policy: Open Rain or Shine (with Exceptions)

Yes, Dorney Park (Allentown, PA) operates rain or shine. The park does not close for rain alone. However, individual rides and attractions may temporarily shut down for safety during:

• Lightning / Thunderstorms: All outdoor rides (coasters, water rides, Ferris wheel) close until 30 minutes after last strike.
• High Winds: Tall rides (coasters, drop towers) close above manufacturer wind limits.
• Heavy Rain: Some coasters (especially wooden) and water rides may close if track/brake performance is compromised.

What Stays Open?

• Indoor/dark rides, shows, arcades, restaurants, shops.
• Many flat rides (if no lightning).
• Water park (Wildwater Kingdom) often stays open in rain—unless lightning.

Tips for Rainy Days

• Bring ponchos/rain jackets (umbrellas prohibited on rides).
• Check the app for real-time ride status.
• Focus on indoor attractions during storms.
• No rain checks or refunds for weather.
