Coach tours have the responsibility of keeping track of the tour's guests and of looking after their safety for the duration. They also verify sleeping accommodations and expectations, and they make sure that luggage is transferred from one location to the next, if necessary.
Many meals are included on coach tours, and arrangements are made in advance so that the group is expected and gets proper service and local color at eating establishments. Sometimes, however, buses stop for free-time excursions when tourists dine and explore, on their own.
If the Pullman tour is focused on one city, tourists stay at the same hotel, but may go on day or partial-day trips to areas of interest. A stay in Paris, for example, may include site tours of Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral and many others.
