Vancouver, Washington, offers an abundance of recreational opportunities for adults as well as children. Marshall Community Center offers day camps for kids ages 6 to11. Kids can join structured activities such as creating crafts, playing games and sports, going on field trips and participating in interactive presentations and nature activities. Depending on which day camp program you join, activities include “Sports-a-Thon,” “Heritage Week,” “Nature's Adventure,” “Fitness Factor” and “All About Animals.” Activities are offered Monday through Friday throughout the summer, and fees apply per child.

Sadri's Summit in the Firstenburg Community Center? is the largest climbing wall in Vancouver. Kids age 4 and up can climb a wall that is 27 feet high and 50 feet wide and a bouldering wall that is 13 feet high and 20 feet wide. Kids age 4 and up can join classes such as “Billy Goats on the Rock,” “Kids on the Rock” and “Mountain Goats on the Rock Belay Certification Climbing Class.” Sadri’s Summit also has an open climb session for kids age 5 and up and a “Family Friday Climb” for kids age 4 and up. Kids ages 5 to 15 can also celebrate their birthday at Sadri’s Summit, which is open daily. Admission fees apply.

Enroll your kids in dance classes in DanceWorks Dance Studio. The studio offers dance classes such as ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, modern, preschool dance and pointe classes from beginning through advanced levels. Kids starting at age 3 and adults are welcome to take lessons in DanceWork’s three studios. A showcase fee covers a T-shirt, tights, accessories, a garment bag and alterations as well as six tickets for the annual showcase. Special events are held throughout the year. Summer camp and drama and zumba classes are also offered.
