Guided Budget Tours to America

Tours of major United States attractions can be educational, as well as entertaining. A guided tour can provide information about the destination that the tourist would not have found by himself. A guide can also deal with any language barriers and provide insight into local customers that would not be available otherwise.
  1. Grand Canyon and Las Vegas

    • Experience an eight-day excursion between Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon, guided by Cosmos, for around $1,000, as of February 2011. This includes an overnight stay at the Grand Canyon, an four-wheel drive tour of Monument Valley and a trip to Bryce Canyon National Park. The last phase of this trip is Zion National Park, where you can spend time hiking or bird watching. The next part of the tour allows you to return to Las Vegas to spend time in the casinos and shops.

    New York to Niagara Falls

    • This three-day tour from the Big Apple to Niagara Falls, hosted by Trek America, costs around $500, as of February 2011. This trip takes you from New York to a night at the Finger Lakes, with the option of touring the local wineries for an additional fee and then to Niagara Falls. Day three includes a stop in Syracuse and the Woodbury Common Premium Outlet Mall on the way back to the city. This package provides two breakfasts, two lunches and a dinner.

    Alaska

    • A seven-day trip to Alaska, from Cosmos, is available for around $1,400, as of February 2011. This tour begins in Anchorage, the largest city in Alaska, where you can see its sights. Next is a trip to Chugach National Forest, and your cruise to Portage Glacier. Guests travel by cruise ship to Fairbanks, while watching the diverse Alaska wildlife and scenery along the way. As part of this package, you will also get to ride on a riverboat, as well as on the Alaska Railroad.

    Colorado

    • Take a nine-day trip, courtesy of Cosmos, through Colorado, and its historic railways, for approximately $1,500, as of February 2011. The trip begins in Denver with the Colorado Railroad Museum. From there you will visit Colorado Springs and the Garden of the Gods, and board a train to the summit of Pike's Peak. From there, visitors will tour Royal Gorge Bridge, the highest suspension bridge in the world at 1,053 feet above Colorado's Arkansas River.
