Wild Watch Thailand arranges three-day tours through the Khao Yai National Park. The park consists of moist, evergreen forests, hosts more than 2,400 different plant species, more than 350 bird species and numerous mammals. Although the park is situated three hours Northeast from Bangkok, Wild Watch Thailand personnel will transfer you from your hotel in Bangkok to the park and back. An English-speaking naturalist guide leads the group on a three-day hike through the jungle. Porters go along with your private group to carry all of the gear. You will spend two nights in a deluxe tented camp consisting of a large dining tent and two comfortable sleeping tents---all fitted with mosquito nets. Hot showers, freshly prepared Thai dishes and cold drinks are all included in the package. The tour is only recommended for fit, serious hikers and children younger than 15 years old are not allowed. Tours are arranged on a private basis, so no other tourists will join your group.

Khao Sok National Park wilderness preservation sanctuary is situated close to the island of Phuket in the Surathani province of Thailand. Phuket Safari Travel organizes several jungle-trekking day trips through the national park. During the one-day tour you are guided through the jungle in a canoe, from which you get a view of several estuaries. The day tour also includes an Indian elephant ride through the jungle, which will take you to a refreshing waterfall pool for lunch. For an educational jungle experience, visit the Khao Kheow Open Zoo, which stretches over 2,000 acres of the Khao Kheow-Khao Chom Puo Wildlife Sanctuary. Khao Kheow is the first zoo in Thailand to become a member of WAZA (World Association of Zoos and Aquariums) and houses the largest variety of cat species in Thailand. The zoo features a special tour, called "Journey to the Jungle," during which the audience is educated on different jungle animals and birds and their behaviors. Paddle Asia hosts several jungle survival courses in the Khao Sok National Park and the Phang Nga Province. During such a survival course you will be taught to survive the Thai jungle with very basic tools. The Khao Sok course also includes a kayaking tour through the park. You are taught which plants are edible, which to use for medicine, how to build a jungle shelter, how to find water on land, how to use flint to make fire and many other jungle skills.
