Children love animals, and the London Zoo has one of the best animal collections in the world. The Zoological Society of London was founded at this location in 1827. It was here that the word "aquarium" was first coined. The London Zoo is frequently the first home to many animals never before displayed in public. The zoo's focus is on conservation and education, and it runs many breeding programs and is one of the most advanced zoos in the world when it comes to natural animal enclosures. More than 100 rare and endangered animals call the London Zoo home. Package tickets for parents with children are available.

What is a better day trip for a family than a visit to a museum dedicated to children and childhood with a focus on learning? That is exactly what visitors to the Victoria and Albert Children's Museum will find. Permanent exhibits are dedicated to moving toys as well as children's experiences growing up throughout history, including what children wear, how they learn and how they live. The museum's collections include dolls, games, clothes and teddy bears. There are regularly scheduled tours, and the museum often hosts touring exhibits.

The Horniman Museum is dedicated to raising awareness of cultures from around the world. It does this with an excellent collection of exhibits and objects from around the globe, including the Horniman Walrus, which was stuffed in 1870 by a taxidermist that had never seen a walrus and subsequently overstuffed the animal, a coffin lid from Egypt and a torture chair from the Spanish Inquisition. With exciting touring exhibitions, hands-on exhibits and unusual and humorous objects from all over the world, the Horniman is a hidden London treasure and a fun visit for the whole family.
