Beaches Around Boston

Boston, Massachusetts is one of the largest cities in the United States. It is best known as the hub of New England and is the largest city in the region. If you are visiting Boston and are looking for a quiet place to relax, there are plenty of beaches around the area. There are many of them located along Massachusetts' Atlantic coastline.
  1. Surfside Beach

    • This beach, located in Nantucket, is one of Massachusetts most popular beaches. The beach attracts thousands of people each summer because of the cold water and waves. The waters are shallow, clear and seaweed free. There is also a 31-foot sailboat that you can take in the water, and lifeguards are on duty during the peak summer months. Surfside beach has 60 free parking spaces, and a 2.2-mile paved path for bikes.

    Crane Beach

    • This beach is located in Ipswich, Massachusetts, just north of Boston. Crane Beach attracts 25,000 people annually and has about 1,200 acres of forest that is great for recreation such as hiking. There is also a large snack bar and picnic tables. The beach also features bathhouses for changing clothes and outdoor showers for washing yourself off after playing in the sand. Crane Beach is also located near the restaurant Woodman's, which is known as the birthplace of fried clam.

    Cahoon Hollow Beach

    • This beach is located on Massachusetts Atlantic Coast in Wellfleet. This beach is known for its scenic views and provides a family-friendly atmosphere. The beach provides a picnic area with a snack bar, and it is conveniently located near hotels and lodging. Visitors to this beach will enjoy recreational activities such as hiking, fishing, surfing and swimming. Cahoon Hollow Beach also has parking available.

    Head of the Meadow Beach

    • This beach is located on the Atlantic coast of Massachusetts in Truro. The beach provides a relaxing atmosphere where visitors can eat, surf and swim. The Head of the Meadow Beach is guarded by life guards in the summer months and features private bathrooms, which are also only available during the summer months. There is a bike trail and parking is available. The beach is also conveniently located near Pilgrim Heights and High Head.
