The museum is on the Portland waterfront and hosts a exhibits and a planetarium. Featured exhibits include the USS Blueback submarine, a Titanic exhibition, dinosaurs and Einstein. The Science Museum is perfect for adults and children of all ages. There are two cafes inside the museum and an Omnimax theater where a variety of films and documentaries are shown, including a view from the Hubble telescope. As of October 2010, the admission to the museum is $12.00 for adults, $9.00 for children and/or seniors and parking is $2.00. The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and is open on Monday when the local public school district is not in session.

This historic mansion was once the home Henry Pittock, a Portland pioneer and owner of The Oregonian newspaper. The Pittock family owned the mansion from 1914 to 1919. Henry and his wife had six children and were elderly when they moved into the home. The two died only a few years after moving in the mansion, which remained in the family until one of the couple's grandsons sold the property in 1958. The self-guided tour of the mansion includes a tour of Gate Lodge, the home of the estate steward. As of October 2010, admission to the mansion is $8.00 for adults, $7.00 for seniors 65 and up, $5.00 for children aged 6-18 and children under 6 get in free. The mansion is open daily from Feb. 1 to June 30, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.,; July 1 to Aug. 31 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and September 1 to Dec. 31 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The home is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and during the month of January.

The Portland Children's Museum is a loaded with hands-on exhibits for kids of all ages. Exhibits include waterworks, where children will experience construction building in the garage or clay studio. There are also dress-up areas, where kids can show off their acting skills in the theater, pretend to grocery shop or dig with trucks. Don't miss story time, which allows the children to act out stories being read. As of October 2010, the museum is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. The museum is closed on Mondays. Museum admission is $9.00 per person and ages 18 months and under get in free.
