    Discovery Lake

    • Discovery Lake, located on Foxhall Drive, offers a scenic outing for kids and adults alike. The dog-friendly lake features numerous paved and unpaved multiuse trails for hiking, biking, jogging or even horseback riding. Experience native birds including coots, mallards, herons and egret and the occasional bobcat or deer as you complete the 0.8-mile loop trail around the lake. The trail offers expansive views of the mountains to the south and the Discovery Hills development to the north. Spend some time fishing or feeding the ducks from a dock that extends into the lake, or stop at the playground in the adjacent park for the kids to play and cool off in the fountain.

    Woodland Park Aquatic Facility

    • The Woodland Park Aquatic Facility, which is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day, offers a perfect location to cool off from the summer San Marcos heat. The facility features three heated pools: a 25-meter racing pool, a 30-by-40-foot diving pool and an 18-foot diameter wading pool. The location also boasts 1- and 3-meter diving boards and The Loop water slide. The Loop is a 50-foot long slide that makes a 270-degree loop ending up in Woodland Park Pool. All participants must be at least 48 inches tall to slide.
