The casino is one of the newest in Sin City, having opened in 2000. It was built by Michael Gaughan's Coast Resorts and purchased by Boyd in 2004.
Suncoast is located near Summerlin, one of the newer communities that have sprung up around Las Vegas since the city's explosive growth in the past century. This part of the valley was heavily traveled by early visitors to the Southwest. This was due to the various springs around nearby Red Rock Canyon that were used as a watering hole in the desert.
The casino has the standard games of chance, including slots, video poker, blackjack, craps, roulette and more.
Suncoast also has a movie theater, bowling alley and conference rooms for meeting area space. It also features the popular SC Prime Steakhouse and Bar.
When the casino was built, the hotel tower was the tallest building on the Las Vegas Valley's west side.
