Located along the Monongahela River, the Waterfront is a trendy gathering place for teenagers and adults in Pittsburgh. One of the main entertainment attractions here is Dave and Buster's. This establishment features a restaurant adjacent to its large gaming area filled with arcade, racing and carnival-style games. Teenagers can compete against each other and winn tickets to cash in for prizes. The Waterfront also offers many hip burger-and-fries-style restaurants such as Fuddruckers, T.G.I. Friday's and Red Robin. Additionally, teens can shop for new clothes and accessories at favorite teen stores such as Aeropostale, Old Navy, American Eagle Outfitters and Wet Seal.
Station Square is a hot-spot for teenagers to gather in Pittsburgh. This large entertainment complex features many restaurants such as Hard Rock Café, specialty shops with Pittsburgh-themed merchandise and a large amphitheater for summer concerts. It has featured musical artists such as Heart, Lil Kim, Busta Rhymes, Maroon 5 and Jason Mraz. Station Square also provides transportation on the Gateway Clipper boat to and from Steelers, Pirates and Penguins games.
Pittsburgh is home to many major sports teams that offer year-round sports entertainment for teenagers, their families and friends. During the summer, teenagers can spend the afternoon or evening watching a Pirates game with a spectacular view of the city from PNC Park. Some evening games even feature a fireworks display immediately following the game. During cooler months of the year, teenagers root for the Steelers at Heinz Field and the Penguins at the Consol Energy Center. Each complex offers optimized seating arrangements and many eateries for lunch and dinner.
Throughout the year, teenagers can enjoy concerts by their favorite artists at many of Pittsburgh's concert venues. Within the city and throughout the year, concerts are often held at the sports centers: Heinz Field, Consol Energy Center and PNC Park. Wintertime concerts are housed indoors at Consol Energy Center, with floor seating directly above the ice. For example, the Consol hosted Lady Gaga in February 2011. With both stadium and lawn seating options, First Niagara Pavilion offers summertime concerts just outside of the city; the center played host to teenage favorites The Jonas Brothers in 2010.
