What languages are spoken in Vanuatu?

Vanuatu has more than 100 indigenous languages, belonging to the Oceanic branch of the Austronesian language family. Bislama, an English-based creole, is the most widely spoken language and serves as the lingua franca of the country, primarily acting as a second or third language. English and French are also official languages, the remnants of colonial rule.
