What is a cross shopper?

A cross-shopper is a consumer who shops for a product or service in a category they don’t normally buy from. For instance, if a person visits three different car manufacturers before making a decision about which one to buy, they’re considered to be a cross-shopper.

Cross-shoppers are often researching before making a big purchase, and can be attracted to a business with a lower price or better customer service. They’re also more likely to be swayed by marketing campaigns and promotions, making cross-shopping an important component of any business growth strategy.
