What Is Inscribed on the India Gate? A Tribute to Fallen Soldiers

The India Gate, a majestic war memorial in New Delhi, bears the names of 13,300 soldiers who sacrificed their lives. These names include martyrs from the First World War (1914–1918) and the Third Anglo-Afghan War (1919). The inscriptions are in English, arranged alphabetically on two sets of bronze panels on either side of the arch, with officers listed first followed by other ranks.
