Vietnam uses the Vietnamese đồng as its currency. The đồng is abbreviated as "₫" and is subdivided into 100 xu. The đồng has been the currency of Vietnam since 1978, when it replaced the North Vietnamese đồng and the South Vietnamese piastre.
